Detox Programs

Why Novus

Drug detox programs normally take place in hospital settings. At Novus we recognize the importance of a stress-free environment. Because medical detoxification in a hospital setting can be uncomfortable at best, we were determined to create a facility that not only practiced the best medical techniques and procedures--but allowed you to do your detoxification in a setting that is comfortable, private and safe. Our facility provides our clients with world-class medicine in the comfort of hotel-like surroundings. Based on our initial responses, here is what we found to be desirable -– privacy, quality of living and confidentiality along with the best detoxification programs available.

Detoxification Programs

Detoxification Programs at Novus provide detox services for people wishing to withdraw from drugs like opiates, heroin, psychotropics, alcohol, or benzodiazepines. If you are taking a drug and are unsure if Novus offers a program for you, please contact us immediately so that our trained Admissions Counselors can offer advice and answer any questions you may have. If we are not in a position to help you, we will do our best to assist you in finding the right solution.

Detoxification Programs at Novus—The Difference

Detoxification programs at many other facilities are much different. These programs result in your detoxification from one drug but they often place you on another drug. The Novus Program does not replace one drug with another. Our objective is for you to be drug-free and safely off all dangerous drugs. Once you have successfully withdrawn, our doctor may advise you on things you can do to help you stay comfortably drug-free.

Rapid Detox

You may have heard of a detoxification program called Rapid Detox. Rapid Detox claims that you can detox from a drug while under anesthesia for six to eight hours. However, Rapid Detox centers omit telling you an important fact about their detoxification program. If you are under anesthesia for six to eight hours with the strong drug used for detoxification that is injected in your body, recuperation often takes from a few uncomfortable days to several weeks.

If someone is considering Rapid Detox, ask the provider about the types of symptoms experienced by Rapid Detox patients and how long these lasted. Additionally, quite often patients are placed on tranquilizers or other drugs to assist them to recover from the resulting side effects of Rapid Detox and often become dependent on those drugs—thus requiring further detoxification.

With the Novus Detoxification Program, there is no severe shock to your body and in most cases you will be able to work or relax during your program and go home free of the drug and ready to fully resume your life.

Detoxification Program Duration

Detoxification programs for drugs such as opiates, psychotropics, alcohol, heroin or benzodiazepines usually range from 6 to 10 days of medically supervised detoxification. Of course, because our detoxification program is not a “one program for all” but is designed for you, your program may take a shorter time or a longer time.

Our medical director designs your personal detoxification program after meeting with you, reviewing your medical history and analyzing medical tests conducted at our facility. Daily, the medical staff will carefully examine you and review your condition and progress. This will determine the dosage reduction each day and this procedure will continue until the person’s detoxification is safely completed.

Our goal at Novus is to provide the highest standards of treatment to make your drug detox and recovery a success, as rapidly as possible!
