Dr. Agin, our medical director, is board certified in Family Medicine. He attended medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Experienced in counseling and detoxification for both illicit drugs and prescription medications, Dr. Agin is one of a very select group of physicians certified in buprenorphine therapy for both maintenance and rapid detox. His research in nutrition and vitamin therapy supports an important component of our detox program.

Kent has over 20 years of management experience and over 15 years of executive level experience developing and leading accredited social services programs addressing diverse human needs including addiction, homelessness, poverty, trauma, and family reunification. He came to Novus drawn by its mission and vision to help others and to pursue excellence in the field of recovery. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ball State University and later received his Masters Degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also completed a two year certified Executive Leadership Program sponsored by the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business.

Jean received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida and is certified in IV Therapy. Her expertise is in working one-on-one with patients and during her years as a nurse she has worked in acute care, home care, hospice and wound care clinics. She has always been interested in treating patients to find the underlying causes of their pain or illness rather than just addressing symptoms with drugs. She has pursued education in nutrition and more natural alternatives to help the body heal itself. Jean brings to Novus a caring and nurturing spirit that safeguards and encourages our patients.

Kurt comes to Novus Medical Detox with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master's Degree in Counseling & Psychology from Troy University, with a concentration in substance abuse. Kurt is a Registered Intern in Mental Health in the State of Florida and a Certified Addiction Professional. His work experience includes over two years at the Waukesha County Mental Health Center in Wisconsin and over four years at Operation Par Inc. at the Largo Campus where he worked in both the long-term and short-term residential substance abuse and mental-health treatment programs as the Lead Counselor. Meske's professional experience and interpersonal counseling skills provide our clients the type of caring counseling and professional treatment that aligns with Novus' mission statement. He believes as we believe – we are there to help individuals stricken with addiction get their life back.

Hayden is a Certified Addiction Professional with eight years of experience in the field. He has a B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in addiction studies.

Hayden has spent four years at Novus working directly with hundreds of clients at the inpatient detox level. He's been to rehab and recovered from his own drug addiction and is now happily married with children. His knowledge and personal experience with addiction are invaluable in helping others overcome problems with drugs or alcohol.

Growing up in the drug culture, Paul spent many years enmeshed in all that involves. After recovering from his own drug addiction, Paul became a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor and has worked for the last 8 years to help others escape the control of drugs in their lives. His personal understanding of what it takes to decide to change one's life makes him invaluable for anyone needing a concerned and caring ear. Now happily married and a new father, Paul works every day to be a haven for those who want to be free of the influence of drugs.

Justin started out in admissions for a residential treatment center nearly 10 years ago. He handled admissions, interventions and worked with families from all over the United States and Canada. Since Novus's beginning, Justin has used Novus as his choice detox, referring patients in from all over the country for medical drug detox. Justin then decided to join Novus full time in 2012. Justin understands both sides of addiction. After a sports injury in the late 90's he was introduced to prescription drugs and struggled with getting off of them for multiple years. After his successful recovery over a decade ago, he has been helping people battling addictions since.
